What We Believe

  • The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the basis for any statement of faith.
  • We subscribe to the “Baptist Faith and Message” as our doctrinal statement.  In summary, we hold the following beliefs.
  • That God is a triune God:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God      expressed in three persons, all equally God as one essence, yet distinct in function.  The three are inseparable.
  • The Bible is the Word of God, supernaturally inspired, inerrant in the original manuscripts, and preserved by God as the authoritative standard for every day and every life.
  • That God, by His sovereign choice and out of love for mankind, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to save sinners from eternal death, separation from God for eternity.  All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
  • That Jesus Christ , the only begotten Son, was both fully God and fully man, that He was born of a virgin and that He lived a sinless life.
  • That Jesus was crucified and took our place and paid our price of sin on the cross, that He was raised bodily on the third day, and that He ascended to the Father’s right hand where He is the head of the church and intercedes for believers.
  • That Jesus is coming again, bodily, to “rapture” His bride, the church and will set up His eternal reign with a new heaven and a new earth where we will reign with Him forever.
  • That by His shed blood, the Lord Jesus made perfect atonement for our sins.  People are saved and justified (made right with God) only by the shed blood of Christ, not from works.  Works are a result of faith in Christ and His life lived out through the believer by the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • That believers cannot lose their salvation, that at death their spirit departs to be with Christ, that they will be raised up with a glorified body and that they will dwell forever in the divine presence of Christ.
  • That the Holy Spirit is God, and possesses all the divine attributes.  He indwells all believers, baptizes and seals all believers at the moment of true conversion / salvation, and fills them in response to confession of sin and repentance.  The filling of the Holy Spirit is both a one time and continual process.  A believer can grieve the Holy Spirit  through sinning and must repent to receive a fresh infilling.  The Holy Spirit never leaves but the believer does not experience the effects of His filling when unconfessed sin is present in the believer’s life.
  • That the goal of every true Christian is to grow to spiritual maturity through obedience to the Word of God and the indwelling Spirit.
  • That the process of Scripture is:
    • admitting/agreeing with God you are a sinner;
    •  believing that Jesus died on the cross in your place for your sin, paying your sin debt;
    • confessing Jesus as the Savior and Lord of your life, committing yourself to Him, depending on the Holy Spirit to empower you to live as a follower of Christ.  Baptism by immersion comes after receiving Christ as Savior and Lord.  Baptism says you identify with the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Christ and that you have asked God to work His will in your life and that you deny self (the old nature) so that God may accomplish His purposes through you.  Baptism symbolizes that you are dead to sin but alive to God.
  • That the church is God’s plan, that participating in church life is  participating with God in His redemptive plan for mankind, and that   using your gifts, talents, skills, abilities, and time for His glory is your highest calling regardless of your vocation.

Case For Christ

Mixed Adults

  • A trained investigative journalist  examines the claims of Christ. By retracing his own spiritual journey from atheism to faith, Lee Strobel, former legal editor of the Chicago Tribune, cross-examines a dozen experts with doctorates who are specialists in the areas of old manuscripts, textual criticism, and biblical studies in The Case for Christ. Strobel challenges them with questions like How reliable is the New Testament? Does evidence for Jesus exist outside the Bible? Is there any reason to believe the resurrection was an actual event?

Overcome  Youth

  • Overcome acknowledges that life’s circumstances can be overwhelming. And when people can’t change their circumstances, they just learn to survive them. That’s not the life Christ calls us to. While He doesn’t remove our hardships, He works through them and He equips us to rise above them. Using the biblical account of Joseph, this study helps group members move past simply surviving life’s adversities to overcoming betrayal, temptation, bitterness, and hard times. Great for Sunday School classes and small groups.

  • Praise Team Development  Youth
  • Austin Nystrom will be working with students interested in developing their abilities and preparing them to be worship leaders within our own youth department and adult worship services.

Kids On Mission

Sundays -12 Week Study – Children K-6th

The world may seem like a big place to your child, and God’s heart for the world may seem like a big topic to cover. But everyone has a role in reaching the nations with the Gospel, BIG and small. It’s that simple! We hope to give children the opportunity to learn about foreign missions while working in local service projects for our community and church as well.
